The Opposite of Mikey
By eclectik | November 21, 2006

Someone asked ” Exactly what do you mean by being a picky eater?”
well….
One of my “Reasons I’m single” was that I’m a picky eater. Some women think that this is a terrible thing since it limits where we can go out to eat…or changes the spontaneity of hitting a new place to eat since I may not eat anything on the menu
I dunno…I figure
1. I’m not going out to eat every night so when WE go together it’s more than likely there’s something at the place we go to that I’ll like…and if not I’m not complaining
I know people don’t like to have people sit there while they eat…but I’ll drink
2. So what? It’s just dinner…eat what you want…it’s more for you LOL
ANYWAY I don’t think you my most favoritest people ever truly get the depth to my “Pickiness” goes so here’s a quick look:
(Disclaimer: It’s bad…real bad…I’m such a little kid)
Let’s break this up into 3 phases: Things I’ve never eaten, Things I won’t eat, and things that are just weird/just stupid
Things I’ve never eaten (Never had…never tasted)
Big Mac
Whopper
Fillet-O-Fish
Grilled Cheese
Lasagna
Potato Salad
Cole Slaw
Potato Salad
Calamari
Cheesesteak
…I’ve had Spam though!
Things I won’t eat
Sandwiches (Not a fan of bread)
Pork (Cept Pepperoni…and starting to not eat that)
Cheeseburgers
Buffalo wings (LOVE Chicken…hate the sauce)
Any food other than American
Meaning I don’t eat, Chinese, Japanese, Gyanese, Greek, Ethiopian, Indian, Mexican
(I do love hard shell tacos though…heard that doesn’t count as Mexican lol)
Guess you can add I don’t eat Italian I don’t eat Lasagna but I LOVE spaghetti
Macaroni and Cheese
Salad and Salad dressing
Stuffing/Dressing
Yogurt
Meatloaf (I use to eat/like it…now I don’t wanna)
Community food (i.e. food a co worker brings in)**
**My office had a Pot Luck meal
(Turkey, Ham, Stuffing, Greens, Pie, Tater Salad, Casseroles, etc.)
…I went to Wendy’s
Anything with Mayonnaise, Cream cheese, Coconut,
Sushi
Jello
My Steak has to be ‘butterflied’
…and I dont eat Gumbo
Things that are just weird/Just stupid
I don’t like cheese…only eat it on Pizza and Tacos
HOWEVER,
When I order a pizza I always get extra cheese …just stupid.
I’ll often not eat something based on presentation and/or smell
I hate Sandwiches, don’t eat bread (Never purchased a loaf) but I’ll go to TOWN on a Popeye’s Biscuit!
…and ESPECIALLY my Grandmothers!
Some things I would eat until I remember what’s in them like:
Egg nog, Cheesecake, French toast
The Only seafood I eat: Fried fish, Crab legs, and fried shrimp
The only condiments I eat are Catsup and BBQ sauce.
I don’t like my foods to touch each other; I just as well rather put my food on different plates (I never do that I’m just sayin)
Love Rice
Love Beans
Favorite Veggies are:
Green Beans
Greens
Sweet Potatoes
String Beans
Cucumbers
Tomatoes (FRIED GREEN TOMATOES ARE MY ISH)
Corn
Potatoes
Celery
Lettuce (on a Taco)
Bell Peppers
Makes my Thanksgivings interesting, no?
…no matter, not going home this year.

I’m so speechless right now! I didn’t know you were that picky. You listed potato salad twice. You’re not missing anything. I hate it!
Oh- I don’t know when your birthday is but Happy Birthday! Don’t mope! lol!

…I’ve had Spam though!
-You ain’t as picky as you think!
I don’t like cheese…only eat it on Pizza and Tacos
-I love cheese, but I don’t like it on Pizza…I pick it off.
When I order a pizza I always get extra cheese …just stupid.
-Yuck! I order light cheese.
I’ll often not eat something based on presentation and/or smell
-I am sooo feeling you on this one. That’s why I will not ever put a chitterling up to my mouth. Yuck!
I hate Sandwiches, don’t eat bread (Never purchased a loaf)…
-I don’t buy loaves of bread either (I hate that gummy texture, makes me gag just thinking about it)…I will eat sandwiches if made on a fresh roll , bagel, or croissant. I am not a big fan of hamburger buns either.
The only condiments I eat are Catsup and BBQ sauce.
-Hell I don’t even eat Catsup, I put BBQ sauce on my fries. And let’s not talk about gravy, syrup, salad dressing…yuck!
Love Rice
Love Beans
-Not a fan of either of the above
Hell, you eat more vegetables than me…give me Cucumbers. I don’t like any cooked green vegetables…and sweet potatoes…Yuck! I will tear up some corn on the cob though…must be sweet.
And Fillet-O-Fish with/out Tartar sauce is the bomb. LOL. But I end up tearing off most of the bun…I will take it back if the bun is hard. The bread has to be just right toasty yet soft.
I finally found someone pickier than me. And that’s not good…I have given many an auntie a headache because of what I don’t eat.

We must be from the same mother!
-I HATE when my foods touch each other, too. Presentation is muy importante!
-Not a big fan of cheese, but I will eat a Philly Cheesesteak and ONLY if I’m IN Philly. –Mayo is GROSS! It’s like sperm clumps (lol that’s gross!)
I agree on a lot of others to, but I have to go do some work!
We can be weird together, buddy!
: )

I think this is the funniest thing I have read in a minute…you are too much E…but to each his own…
I love all kinds of food…so you can catch me eating everything above…BUT I too have some restrictions….
I don’t like cheese…
-I can’t eat cheese so when I order a pizza its with no cheese please
I am actually lactose so I can’t have any dairy at all…
Community food (i.e. food a co worker brings in)**
-I don’t eat that either
Jello
-don’t eat that either
Macaroni and Cheese
-can’t
Yogurt
-can’t
I don’t like to eat fried foods unless its RIGHT off the stove…
I don’t like pork too much, but I still eat some things…
I mean you aren’t that bad…I can only imagine your dinners at night…probably have a set calendar of meals…but that’s cool too…
Oh and I don’t like my food to touch either….

You are a picky eater…
*Any food other than American
Meaning I don’t eat, Chinese, Japanese, Gyanese, Greek, Ethiopian, Indian, Mexican*
I used to be as picky but if you traveled as much
as I do you’d starve… literally. You can’t go to these places
and ask for American food- they would laugh at you-
ESPECIALLY in Japan. It was so hard to find a dang McDonalds!
And the menus are different- they cater to that countries tastes,
so - a raw sushimi sandwhich with fries- that don’t really taste like
“fries” are pretty common!
I guess your next post should be what you DO eat. hahaha!

I’m dying laughing over here! Wow! That is an extensive list. I would say that you were lactose intolerant?
But I feel you on the rice. Rice is my FAVORITE food, hands down! I will eat it everyday.

wow….and you went to an HBCU….my sista you are a uniuque one!!! DON’T CHANGE!!! wow…i’ve never met anyone like you….that’s cool!!
November 21st, 2006 at 7:25 pm
Damn, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone break it down like that…What do you eat on Thanksgiving?!?! - on a daily basis?? I guess as far as going out to eat you could be pain, but it’s you!
I’m just amazed…
November 21st, 2006 at 8:28 pm
I am over here giggling at you. I bet you aren’t starving tho’.

OH MY GOSH! I think you’re my twin brother. LOL. Just kidding.
I ALSO hate for my food to touch. That’s just disgusting. Unless it’s rice and peas or potatoes and peas. YUMMY! I don’t do and will NEVER eat pork or beef. Turkey Pepperoni is the bomb! You have to try it, then you can eliminate the pork all together. It taste so good on cracker. Oh wait? Does that count as bread. LOL I thought I was picky! Gee.
November 21st, 2006 at 8:48 pm
OH! And I love the title of this post. How clever you are! LOL
November 22nd, 2006 at 12:09 am
you would find my eating habits crazy compare to yours, I love sour cream, hate ketchup, don’t care for bbq sauce..I usally put hotsauce on everything…lol
I refuse to eat spaghetti - since I was little whenever my mom made it she buy me a different meal that night.
don’t like potato salad or
cole slaw unless is is on north carolina bbq..but since I don’t eat meat any more I don’t eat north carolina bbq.
I love sandwiches but I won’t eat it if it comes from Subway. I don’t like McDonalds or Burger King or Wendy’s or any burger fast food place so I won’t eat there.
hate pancakes, cereal sucks and every now in then I can’t stand waffles..I go thru a phase.
don’t like milk or honey, but I love yogurt. I also use to hate jello but now I live off of jello and pudding….I’m guessing the jello thing is a phase…
I love sushi, can eat it every day except for I refuse to eat california rolls, and I pretty much believe if you put mushroom and bell peppers on anything I’d like it much better.
I think everybody is picky to a degree…but yeah yours takes the cake…I think you one on that pickyness…lol….it is kind of cute though.

Dang! What is left to eat? So if you were starving and all you could eat was Whoppers and Lasagna, you would die?
The list gives me a headache. LOL. My child gets on my nerves she does not like: dressing, coleslaw, potato salad, cornbread, and okra. All which I love. I don’t make her salad anymore cause all she like is cucumber, tomatoe, cheese, lettuce and ranch dressing.
So I am glad she is 16 and fend for herself. Don’t let me get started on ordering pizza. Geez.
November 22nd, 2006 at 12:54 am

November 22nd, 2006 at 8:49 pm
Okayy…..so you went to Wendy’s….what in the HELL did you eat from there?? This is so random, funny, but random and scary all at the same time:)
November 22nd, 2006 at 10:11 pm
OMG! I never knew you were that picky!
)
You will have a hard time finding a woman to cook for you. When she does, SO appreciate it!
September 25th, 2007 at 9:38 am
now, not eating any other food but american, does that mean that you’re not open-minded?
March 7th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
LOL! Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
