So NOW I’m known as the “Don’t believe in marriage” guy.

    I don’t think that’s fair…I believe marriage exists :)

I just don’t know what the reason to get married is!

I say “Why get married” People say “Why not” I say because you didn’t start out married…chill out.

Least some people are honest with me and say it’s because of the ceremony…ring…their day…special day…all attention on them.
Of course others say it’s not about a ceremony and they don’t need all of that but they just want to get married.
…cuz? Then…you’re committed? Cuz you signed the paper?

    So seriously.

You see your marriage license what? One time..Two times then it’s tucked away…besides the ring what proof do you have that you’re married?
…what does it matter and to whom?

You have two rings…you had a witness…now what’s your relationship like?

I maintain that it doesnt matter ring or not…”committment before God” or not…you are with who you are with
If you are dating an asshole…you’re dating an asshole
If you marry one…you’re married to one
If you Have a good person…you have a good person
Nothing is going to change the relationship

    Never mind…

The point is…what could make ‘e’ get married/wanna get married?

Well…the near perfect woman (for me).
…I qualify that because the ;near perfect’ woman for me, may be nowhere NEAR whats perfect for someone else…I dont ask for that much
example…a ‘near perfect’ day for me would be: Breakfast, Shopping, a Movie, Football, Pizza, Sex, Ice cream, Sex lol

I say ‘near perfect’… It cannot be the Perfect woman because the PERFECT woman wouldn’t want to get married :)

So everything in the dime lines, the woman described in “She!” and the list of the I love women posts and a couple of other posts….HER.

IF she really needs to get married…and she catches me on the right day…and if I got ring money; then HER I’ll marry her.

But all these women in between…no marriage, I aint settling for less than that…I can be TOTALLY happy in life with FAR FAR FAR less than “HER”…just wont marry far far less than her

Meaning, FAR less than “HER”? I can be with her for 10 years monogamous…but I wouldnt marry her

So, eclectik is NOT anti Marriage
(though I don’t understand why people want to get married, and those that do get married…whateverz)
but I’m, not getting married to anyone less than HER

    So kiss it.

    …and the bride.

This one has me rooooooollin, fam!

I’ve been married for nearly 9 yrs. Marriage is a funny thing. You could ask 10 married couples about marriage and you’ll get 10 different answers! LoL

Marriage can be a beast! It aint for everybody. For as much as I love my ole lady, there are times when she gets on my last nerve and I have to get the hell away from her. But most of the times…there is a connection that we share…that I can’t put into words.

Guess dats why I signed on the dotted line…fo life! LoL!!!

Marriage is what you make it. The only advice that I could give to you or any other brutha who aint married is…make sure that you are READY to be married. If you have to ask yourself if you’re ready…then you aint ready! Lmao!

      Really E?

      LOL…

Who cares what people think. No need in answering the Y’s. “B/c I want to” if nothing else that’s my answer. So Y do I want to get married? “B/c I want to.” LOL

The reasons only matter to the parties involved not the outsiders.

Now I don’t understand the whoopla over the wedding day and I’m a woman. All for nothing and you spend the next 3yrs paying it off. smh…

As long as we are with whom we love nothing else should matter. To marry or not really shouldn’t be an issue. If you with someone who doesn’t want it and it is something you want you have to make a decision.

As long as needs are being met it will eventual get to that point where you wake up and decide to take the relationship to another level whatever that maybe.

      All IMO

      Peace!

in my mind a marriage, ie a wedding, is a sign of total committment… well it use to be. as long as i find someone who is head over heels for me, supportive, and all those things that make me happy and I him, then i’m straight. just give each other rings to let every one else know. hell common law is good enough for me and saves a hellava lot of money… weddings are ridiculous knowadays.

I don’t think I’m at your extreme — inasmuch as I’d love to be married to the right person, and I have encourage alot of different facets of said person in my thoughts and in my daydreams. I don’t have a “He” in my mind — but I do think on the seamless connect that we’ll have. That we’ll have to have…in order for me to marry. But be someone’s girlfriend for 10 years? At this point in my life? Hell nawl. And that’s just on some principled shit. Them days are done.
